Shalni Sood

Director of Philanthropy
Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC)

Shalni is Director of Philanthropy for the Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC) and has a slightly unusual background in that she is also a Chartered Accountant and business professional. Her breadth of experience in the private sector spans Private Banking, Investment Banking and Accountancy.  Shalni moved into the not-for-profit sector when she joined the RSBC as a Trustee in 2013 and served as a member of the Audit and Risk Committee, Chair of the Fundraising Committee and as a Governor of RSBC’s Dorton College.   In the summer of 2019, she joined RSBC’s Senior Leadership Team as Director of Philanthropy and in a relatively short space of time has secured major funding for a centre for blind and vision-impaired children and young people in the heart of London – The Life Without Limits Centre.
