Alex Spurgeon

Fundraising and Marketing Manager

Alex has worked at the National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) for the last seven years and manages the team responsible for producing and marketing all the charity’s fundraising campaigns.

Prior to joining NAWT, Alex worked in the corporate sector as marketing manager for a wine retailer before making the decision to utilise her skillset to create meaningful change within the charity sector, working for a cause she felt truly passionate about.

During her time with the charity, Alex has more than doubled the charity’s annual income from Direct Mail campaigns, won an award for the best multi-channel marketing campaign as part of the Big Give’s Christmas Challenge, increased the charity’s email subscribers by more than 250% and is currently project managing the creation of a new charity website.

 In her spare time, Alex continues to be surrounded by animals and can usually be found either walking her pet dog Pumba or volunteering as an Elephant Keeper at a nearby zoo.
